HASWA celebrated the achievements and opportunities of older people being full of life with Yoga & Meditation session. After the relaxing session HASWA’s elderly members sang songs, told jokes and enjoyed a healthy vegetarian meal.

The HAVCO volunteers’ week event took place at the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch to celebrate the outstanding contribution volunteers make in Havering. The event highlighted what volunteering is about and how rewarding it is to give something back to the community. The Mayor of Havering awarded certificates and badges to volunteers that have contributed 100 hours+ to volunteering. HASWA volunteers Kashmir Kaur, Mohinder Kaur, Sukhraj Lali, Parminder Singh and Namita Tiwari were awarded certificates by the Mayor for their 100 hours+ voluntary contribution.

The Carers Week event took place on Wednesday 10th June 2015 at the Salvation Army, Romford. HASWA had an information stall set up, Havering Council and Havering CCG ‘Big Event’. Lots of infomation/advice for Carers was available such as Powers of Attorney & Wills, Councils Carers Act talk ‘care and support is changing’ which our Carers found very useful. Pamper sessions and the demonstrations were enjoyed by our Carers group.
